After being diagnosed with leukemia, Monty had a successful round of treatment. But then, as cruel as fate could have been, the sickness reappeared and severely damaged Monty’s health.
After seeing his faithful friend struggle over the last few weeks of his life, Fresco became obsessed with friendship and unconditional love and made it his mission to make Monty’s last days happy.
He made up his mind to show Monty all of their favorite haunts and play areas. Fresco got Monty into a wheelbarrow and carried him to these special places, where he sat like a nice boy.
This moving scene makes you feel something. Knowing that Monty was truly happy in these familiar settings, Fresco led him to locations rich with shared memories. Many of these places were mountain tops and hiking trails, where Fresco was joined by a large number of hikers and good individuals who offered Monty consoling company on their travels.
Monty loved these excursions; his favorite mountain top was in Wales’s stunning Brecon Beacons. It was a memorial to Monty, according to Fresco, who had brought him and everyone he came into contact with endless delight.
Monty quietly departed on June 21st, leaving a loss that touched many people very deeply. Fresco still cherishes the close relationship and great joy that Monty gave into his life. May Monty live in peace forever.
